Hmmmmmmm......I've never worn a 'shrug' before, so I'm not sure if I like this yet.
(or maybe I just don't like how lumpy I look in the picture LOL!)
I really like the way the fabric knitted up. The Manos softened wonderfully with a Eucalon bath and blocking.
Even with abbreviating the sleeve lenth of the pattern...the sleeves are loooong. I also don't care for how the seam runs down the inside of my arm...it kind of bugged me when I wore this for an hour or two. The sleeves also seem to have a tendency to twist around on my arms and I really DON'T like that.
I do like the lacy sleeve pattern. Very gracefuly and pretty.
Verdict's still out. I will reblock it and try to shrink the sleeve length with a blow dryer....I'll give it a chance and try wearing it a couple of times before the final decision.
Now it's back to the February Lady Sweater. She's been sadly neglected the past several days. Knit on.

I'm baack! The shrug looks nice...hope you get used to wearing it. Let me know, I sorta want one, but have never worn one either.
I love the colors and the lace on the sleeves, but the fit... not so much. I hope you don't mind my saying that, but it's the shrug's shape/size that's off, not yours. I think you wear cloths well though, so I imagine if you keep it as is, you will wear this well also.
I had no idea you could block and SHRINK something! That's good to know.
How did you do the increases in your February Lady Sweater? I started mine and they look (obvious to me) very holey. I still haven't decided whether I want to do buttons, or find some sort of hook/clasp thingie.
Congratulations on finishing the shrug! I just love your FO pose. I agree with the previous commenter; I don't think you dislike the shrug because of your body. You look adorable. I think the shrug is just too big on you!
Shrugs take some getting used to in wearing. Most folks aren't used to wearing something that doesn't close in the front. Especially those of us with, ahem, ample frontal endowment. Shrugs kind of frame and showcase such endowment. Once you get used to wearing them, you'll feel better about them.
I'm glad you are returning to the FLS. I had to put mine away for a bit as our temperatures have soared over the last week or so. It's just too much to knit wool right now!
I agree with everyone else that it is too big, and certainly not your shape. It knit up beautifully and the lace sleeves are oh-so-pretty, so don't give up on it. I can see where it would get finicky to wear if you have to move around. :) Obviously not a work wear, huh?
You knit some really great stuff....but I don't think this shrug is one of them. If you were all lovey-dovey about it, I wouldn't say anything (and it looks nice from the front), but you're not totally in love, and the back view....
I've been wanting to try a shrug, and I liked that pattern in the magazine except it sort of looked wide under the arms. I think I'm going to try something different (maybe on my knitting machine), so think of the time you took as helping other knitters :)
I love those lace sleeves too. I hope it gets more comfy to wear because it sure is cute! I love the falling water scarf as well.
Shrugs are useful especially when it's our kind of weather most of the year. Can you shrink it in the dryer a bit?
Oooh, that looks nice~love the save of the lace cuffs in different yarn!
That is gorgeous!
