It'sTilted!
The 'Tilted Duster' from IWK Fall 07. Started around Dec. 10th, completed included seaming/end weaving and buttons Dec. 30 (with lots of start and stop action!)
The yarn is of course Noro Big Kureyon in #17 (Hot Tamale!)from the fabulous on-line store LittleKnits (my 2nd fav LYS!
The needles were the trusty KnitPicks Options...size 8 to get the gauge and fabric I wanted.
Buttons are locally grown and made caribou horn picked up at a fiberfestival here in Anchorage a year or two ago. I made the 40" size and used 6 and 1/2 of the 176 yard skeins. No pattern modifications, just knit per directions. Easy factor? Super dooper easy peasy. Seriously, seaming the set-in sleeves was the most challenging part and even that was a snap. I had hoped to have it completed to wear for Christmas Day Dinner, but it took almost a week to dry! It's very versatile and will be a great wardrobe complement this winter. Just a word of warning though to anyone else comtemplating making this great sweater....the sleeves are NARROW...and if you are a little more ample in the upper arms, you will definately want to adjust the sleeve width and armscye to accomodate. just sayin'. Whoo hoo! overall, i'm very well pleased with the Tilted Duster! Grace & 'She Who Knits' were spot on in their guesses...one of these days i'll get it together again for a little contest action, but probably not for a month or two!

that alot! It fits you so well and looks very cosy! Good job!
Les
It looks MUCH better in a multi than it does a solid. I really like it on you!
Beautiful! It will be years before I am skilled enough to attempt something as complicated as that. I just finished my first pair of socks.
Wow! Ten days for a sweater - I'm impressed! One day, one day I'll actually finish something as grand. Yeah for you! Happy New Year!
Great job Lisa ... and so quickly done! You look wonderful in it and the colours suit you perfectly.
Happy New Year to you and your family!
That looks so great! You must be an amazingly fast knitter
Beautiful and artistically finished with horn button. You look lovely on it.
I can't believe you finished that is 10 days on size 8 needles! You must have eaten your Wheaties with caffeine. It looks great, and I love the striping action.
I wish you and your family a very Happy New Year!
Who'da thunk that that kinda-fugly brown thing would look so great in Noro? And you knit that in TEN days??? Awesome.
Merry, happy, safe and loving New Year to you, girlfriend!
PS - your tree looks a lot like ours, with all sorts of cute ornaments, no real theme. ;-D
Yah you ARE! I can't believe how great you look - the colour, the style, the model. I wish (wish, wish) I could get at some sweaters but am stuck doing some store knitting (pretty but tedious). I think you've lit a fire under my stash mountain though :)!
Lovely knit! I wasn't too impressed with the pattern in IK, but in this incarnation, WOWZA!! I might just be adding this to my queue!
it looks beautiful Lisa!! A job well done
wow is that beautiful! You have a right to be very proud, indeed! Have a great New Year's Eve!
Lisa, the sweater is amazing and looks fabulous on you! I was going to knit that for my sister but, as you pointed out, the sleeves look so darn narrow and & I'd have no clue how to adjust them.
Happy New Year!
Beautiful! Great job!
Very nice, Lisa...great fit & colors, much lovelier than the orignal pattern showed. Thanks for the warning about the upper arm width, too.
