And so it grows...........
Grace was spot on in guessing this pattern. It's the Voyager stole designed by Benne F. & Shui Kuen Kozinski. This is real knitted lace...a pattern on each row...no "resting" straight purl rows. But oddly enough...it's going very very very well...no tinking...so far :)
The pattern is oddly intuitive and I find myself "reading" the stitches and only glancing at the chart every once in a while, mostly at the beginning of the row, then sort of humming the pattern to myself as I go along. This should go very quickly as I upped the yarn to worsted weight (Cherry Tree Hill "Silky Mohair") and the needles to size 9s. I love the ripple and flow effect of the stitches and am hoping the laciness won't get too lost in the colorway. We'll see what the blocking magic does in a week or two.....
The weather today is very cool and rainy...a high of 63 is predicted...which is a refreshing break from the sweltering upper 70s and low 80s we've had the past few days. (We Alaskans are very heat intolerant....I feel for all of you in the lower 48 with the triple digit temperatures!)
The Alaska State Fair starts a week from Friday! I can't wait. Get this...I entered both the SunRay and the Lady Eleanor. I've entered pies before...and homemade beer...but never any of my needlework. I felt pretty shy about it when I was there, and it was almost like leaving your children with strangers as I walked away from the nice lady holding my neatly labeled entries. Gulp. But now.....there's a sense of ......anticipation to see what will happen. How will my stitching stack up next to others in the area? Can't wait until next weekend to see!
That's all for today....knit amongst yourselves....

I love it It looks fantastic, can't wait to see it finished, I will make another, I loved the intuitiveness of the pattern!!! It just flowed
I think I already said this, but I really LOVE that color you're using. Good luck at the ASF!
I am totally and completely addicted to knitting lace! I just finished my Diamond Fantasy Shawl, and it's blocking as I type! I can't wait to dive into another lace project. I received my Bee's Fields Shawl kit today, and I'm having to really resist starting it.
I love your lace in the worsted weight! I really want to make a more substantial shawl out of worsted weight. Have you seen the book "Stahman's Shawls and Scarves?" Beautiful laces in worsted.
By the way, I'm totally jealous of your temps - we're way into the three digits. It's 8pm and 97 degrees outside my front door. Geesh...
I love the colors also. So pink!!!!
I can't wait for the fair either.I love to go and look at all the 4H booths, handcrafts, foods, and of coure the home grown vegatables and the big pumpkins.
Happy knitting
Linda
Oh my.. so THIS is the Voyager. It is beautiful! The colors allure me - and the lace pattern is enticing. You do lovely work.
The intuitive knitting... I wonder if it means its easier to flow through it than the Gothic Leaf Stole. That is my current lace project and as much as I enjoy it, it does require concentration. (Of course, I'm a rookie at this.)
ASF.. be sure and tell us about it. I can feel the tension as you leave your work .
Lisa! What a stunner. There is no way-no heck I can do that pattern. I need the resting row or all heck breaks loose.
What fun to enter the Fair. Our state fair starts Labor Day for 2 weeks.
Wow that shawl is gorgeous. I love cherry tree hill but have never tried their mohair mix. I may have to do that. Good luck at the fair - I bet you'll do great! Also do you want to be one of my pay it forward people?
Wow! That colorway is gorgeous, and the pattern looks great with it.
And you're going to enter in the STATE fair!! Double Wow! BTW, what yardage did you use and what is the final blocked size for your Sun Ray? I'm thinking that I may need to re-block mine to get a bit wider across the top.
When you go to the fair, take your camera, because we want to see pictures of your goods with ribbons! And I am sure you will get ribbons!
DH is missing you!
The yarn is absolutely beautiful - want it! I didn't know there was an SK/B2 pattern out - how did I miss that? The baby sweater with bunny button is adorable and I am crossing my fingers for your entries in the fair - definite contenders both :)!
Gorgeous color! I nominated you for Rocking girl not for nothing, I love your taste.
