Cobblestone Completed

Setting the scene: The man was out of town. Cobblestone was fini...just in need of a good blocking. The Alaska weather unseasonably mild....cool, damp, rainy. Cobblestone needed a few extra days to dry. The man comes home. Cobblestone is still pinned out on the dressing room floor.

The man says: "is that my sweater"
I say nonchalantly: "uh huh"
The man says: "when can I wear it"
I say: "uh... I guess when it's dry"
The man leans over, pats the sweater..."feels dry to me"
I take out eleventyjillion blocking pins.......steam out the pin lines. The man pulls the sweater over his head. It is the moment of truth. Will it be too big? Too small? Sleeves too long? Neckline too high and scratchy? Nope. It fits perfectly. "Warm and cozy and comfortable" says the man. And I might add, he looks quite handsome in it too!

The pattern: Cobblestone by Jared Flood from IK Fall 07.
The yarn: Sierra Aran in Lichen from Elann.com
Needles: Size 6 Knitpick Options

Despite being a somewhat boring knit, the short rows and the garter detailing at the sides tone down the monotony. The sweater knits up very quickly and can be customized for a perfect fit across the width and depth of the yoke. The Sierra Aran knits up beautifully and complements the rusticity of the pattern. Definately a winner!

Great sweater! I'm sure he wears it with pride. Well done! :0)

"when can I wear it?"
what a sweet guy! :-)
The sweater looks terrific, and let's face it; the best "guy sweaters" are always boring. If they weren't, they'd never get worn. I mean we can be putting fancy cuffs or lace on a man. Well maybe some men.
I'm gonna stop talking now.

UGH! You totally beat me! I'm still trying to get to the 3rd decrease row on the yoke, but I have high hopes to be there this morning. My exam was followed immediately by a death in the family, so my progress was stunted for much longer than I'd hoped.

Yours is gorgeous! Great work! I'm totally jealous. I'm going to go knit now. ;-)

Great sweater, Lisa! He looks wonderful in it. Your horse wants to get in on the picture, too. Don't you just love that Sierra Aran?
