ugh!
So if you haven't checked out the preview for the new Interweave Knits, go peak. Some great projects (at least in the thumbnails) by fave bloggers Euny Jang-See Euny Knit, Entrelac socks HOLY COW! Stephanie Japel-Glampyre Knits (great sweater!) and Roza's Socks by Grumperina. But HOLY BUTT-FLOSS did you see the knitted thong? nah, unh uh, that's wrong..just very...wrong!

I have been so depressed hearing about this issue that I can't bear to even check out the thumbnails. Is IWK going the way of Knit.1 and other teeny bopper knit mags? Say it ain't so.
I liked a few things in the new IK - but with almost every knit mag out there, I find it's a crap(otis) shoot! OT - Lisa, honest, I'm not rigging the word verification (I would if I could, cause I'm just naughty that way) you've definitely got some of the best ones yet :)! I am knitting lace simply as a form of self-flagellation. I won't wear it, and all those loosey goosey stitches go against my precision brain. Hopefully, folks aren't fibbing about "the magic of blocking" that I keep hearing about!
Lisa, I've been reading your blogs but too lazy to comment. I was sobered by your post about your live-in grandma. Taking care of an older person like that is a huge job, and a real act of love. I am completely humbled by the care you show her. (and me...complaining about being home with DS)
I love thrift stores!! The other day found a bunch of pants and hoodies for DS -- he is over six feet tall and growing (only 14). Tall and very skinny. A bit tricky to dress. At least it's an easy uniform. Baggy pants. Huge hoodies. And I found a super cozy yellow zippered hoodie for me...and an enamel ware french la crueset pot (for choc. fondue of course), and a funky pin for shawls and sweaters...and that espresso yarn. MMMmmmmm...
What?? Not gonna knit a thong? Why ever not?? :)
